FAQS
How could you get to the Congress Venue?

Airport
Barcelona's El Prat Airport is located 13km south-east of the city, 20km from the CCIB.

Train
The train service from the airport to the city centre (Paseo de Gracia) runs from 6:08 am to 23:08 pm (Barcelona-bound) and from 5:28 to 23:02pm (airport-bound).
Trains come every 30 minutes and the journey takes 25 minutes. From Paseo de Gracia train station, you can access the yellow line (line 4) of Barcelona's metro system.  The station nearest CCIB is Maresme-Fòrum.

Bus
The bus service from the airport to the city centre (Plaza Cataluña) runs from 06:00 to 01:00 pm (Barcelona-bound) and from 05:30 to 00:15 am (airport-bound) every day.
Buses come every 10-12 minutes and the journey takes 30 minutes.
Next to Plaza Cataluña is Urquinaona metro station on the yellow line (line 4), which leads directly to the CCIB (Maresme-Fòrum station).

Taxi
Journeys by taxi from the airport take about 20 minutes.  Rates vary depending on the time of the day (T1 rate for night-time and weekend/public holidays, and T2 rate for day-time journeys).

Additional charges are applied for airport services and luggage.

Car rental
Motorway C-31 connects Barcelona directly to the airport.  To enter the city you can take Gran Vía or Avenida Diagonal, which lead directly into city centre, or Ronda de Dalt and Ronda del Litoral, which go round the city.
The most direct route to the CCIB is via exit 24 of Ronda del Litoral.  The estimated journey time is about 30 minutes, depending on traffic.
Should you access the CCIB by car from the city centre, the best option is to cross the city via Avenida Diagonal until you reach the end.

Public Transport
You can access the CCIB on the metro (Maresme-Fòrum station on the yellow line, L4); by bus (lines 7, 36, 41, 43 and 141) and the Trambesòs tram line (Forum station).  All of these means of transport are just a few minutes' walk from the CCIB.

Congress rules and regulations
All speakers and faculty should take their Audiovisual aids to the Speakers preview room at least 4 hours in advance of the beginning of their lecture. The AV Technicians will confirm everything is working properly and send the presentations to the corresponding room through the local network. We require this in order to have enough time to solve any problem that may arise. If you do not comply with this courtesy time, the technicians may not be able to help you.
Dressing code is casual wear for the whole congress.
We kindly request all delegates to switch of the mobile phones when entering the lecture rooms. If you need to answer any call, please do it after exiting the room, in order not to interrupt the speakers. You would not like to be interrupted yourself.

Social events

There are some social events planned in order to take a small break from the intensive scientific programme:

SATURDAY 2ND JULY
- Opening Ceremony
We would like to welcome you at the Congress on Saturday at the Forum Building of the CCIB. Its Audtorium, resembling the Mediterranean sea, is worth seeing. MONDAY 4TH JULY - Afterwork Party
On Monday, after lectures have finished, we would love to gather all of you at the Exhibition area to offer a Vino Español. We believe this is a great opportunity to meet your colleagues without the rush to get to the next session!

Nowadays, it has become the handicrafts reduct in the city; you can find several workshops. You should not miss their shops!
As a courtesy for the Congress attendees, the Pueblo Español grants free access to all delegates attending the party, just showing their ticket at the entrance door, from 19.00 hrs. You can take a walk before it starts and enjoy this impressive venue.
The Party will take place at the Plaza Mayor from 20.00 hrs., and it will consist in a typical Spanish buffet, where you can taste specialties from all over the country, amenized by music.
